Domestic Violence is a crime that will not be tolerated in the Deaf and hard of hearing community.  Chicago Hearing Society’s domestic violence counselor is fluent in American Sign Language.  

Our program is designed specifically for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals.  We offer a variety of services for victims and their families:

• Individual and group counseling

• Information and referral

• Advocacy in various areas (i.e. police, hospitals)

• Resources and support

• Court advocacy (assistance getting Orders of Protection and divorce)

• Crisis intervention (i.e. emergency shelters, medical assistance)

• Community education

Our goal is to empower victims of domestic violence to become strong, independent and safe. 

All services are completely free and confidential.
